Considerable pumping ability
The station boasts three centrifugal pumps with concrete volutes, two high-capacity pumps at 800 m3/min each and an additional pump pumping 720 m3/min. In the past, the drive was handled via right-angle gearboxes. Today, the motors drive the pump without gearboxes.
The technology shift following the war period
In 1946, the station transitioned from steam engines to diesel engines, marking a pivotal moment in its history. Fast forward to 1983, a MAN Bronze diesel engine was introduced, followed by enhanced impellers in 1989, boosting the overall capacity by an impressive 200 m3/min.
From diesel to gas
The year 1998-1999 witnessed a significant shift with the replacement of two diesel engines with state-of-the-art Caterpillar gas engines. These engines showcased versatility, generating electricity during non-pumping periods and contributing power to the grid for added value.
